Message from Local 1503 President: Novel Coronavirus Status Update
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
During this time of uncertainty, Local 1503 is working to make sure the health, safety and financial well-being of our fellow employees who work at the Met given top priority. Please make sure to communicate your concerns to me or any of the elected officers and shop stewards of the Local.
For those of you who are in close contact with visitors and cases, please take proper precautions. See the Met memo and NY Dept. of Health documents and check the links below:

We are in talks with management to clarify absence policy in the event of different scenarios related to closure, quarantine, sick leave, etc.
The contract spells out one aspect clearly. Article X, Paragraph 2, section D provides that:
“An employee shall be granted leave with pay in the following cases, upon submission of evidence satisfactory to the Museum:
To comply with a Health Department regulation with respect to quarantine of his/her household.”
In solidarity,
Rawle Campbell
