Local 1503 Member- Senior Security Officer Emilie Lemakis will participate in this year’s Red Hook Open Studios.

Red Hook Open Studios 2023 occurs on Saturday, October 7th, and Sunday, October 8th. The artists and makers of Red Hook, Brooklyn’s bohemian neighborhood, will open their studios and workspaces to the public.

Emilie Lemakis works in various media because their art is about their life and the relationships with the people, places, and things they encounter that pique their curiosity and imagination. Large-scale drawings, sculptures made from found objects, photography, video, children’s arts and crafts, and short performances are all part of their arsenal that helps them bring to life artwork that’s in an ongoing conversation with their everyday existence: to make what’s invisibly visible–to themself and others.
