The Departmental Technicians manage the day-to-day operations of the Met’s libraries and curatorial departments. On the curatorial side, we transport and install art in the permanent collection and special exhibitions, prepare objects for loans, perform inventories, update digital records, and interface with Building and Security staff, curators, conservators, scientists, administrators, and visiting scholars. We use our knowledge of tools and materials and our love for art to cultivate skills and safely handle the Met’s most precious objects.
