DC 37 Local 1503 Stands with NYSNA
DC 37 Local 1503 stands in strong solidarity with the New York State Nurses Association as nurses fight for a fair contract.
On January 18, 2026, members of Local 1503 came together in solidarity with NYSNA nurses striking outside Mount Sinai Hospital. Nurses are advocating for safe staffing, fair pay, pensions, and protections against workplace violence—basic rights that allow them to care for patients safely and with dignity.
Our members—security officers, building maintainers, and art technicians at the Metropolitan Museum of Art—understand what it means to protect, care for, and serve the public. Like nurses, we know that safe staffing, fair wages, and strong healthcare are essential to doing our jobs well.
NYSNA nurses deserve respect, safety, and a contract that reflects the critical work they do every day. These are not luxuries—they are necessities.
Local 1503 proudly supports NYSNA and calls on Mount Sinai to come to the table and negotiate a fair contract now. When workers stand together, we are stronger.
